Elizabeth McLean

I am a visual artist and writer of historical fiction, working in Vancouver, Canada. I am a gestural painter, working in mixed media, mostly on paper.

From 2005 to 2011 I lived in Hanoi and wrote eight short stories published in the UK as “Imagining Vietnam.” The Canadian edition, retitled “The Swallows Uncaged, A Narrative in Eight Panels” was published in 2015.

My new book is a novel “Woman King and the Naked Warriors.” It dramatizes the life of a rebellious Vietnamese woman who died in 43 AD.
